Happy New Year everyone, and a very belated Merry Christmas. How has everyone been in 2021? Reflecting back on last year (2021), which was only yesterday, I realised I had gone through a lot.
2021 could be described with one word. Challenge. Let's make that a plural because there was certainly more than one challenges. Most of which concerns my family members.
As you all know, my sister, Alexia Praks, who's also a writer, was unwell for the past six months. She was in and out of hospital, and my days were literally filled with hospital and doctors appointments. On top of that, my twin sister, not a writer, by the way, also fell sick. We had the lock down here in New Zealand around August and she was in hospital during that time.
So yep, my whole year, from May onwards until November was pretty much taking care of them. Now to add to all that stress, I had to look after our dad, too. He's old, and he lives with us. So yep. I didn't make much progress on the writing front, so a lot of the books had to be put on hold.
They are on the mend now so I was able to slip in my writing in between doctors visits. And I am glad to announced that I have finished writing The Mafia and His Maiden: Beautiful Lie. Believe it or not, I actually wrote this book in under two weeks. I am so glad with the way it turned out, so I hope you would enjoy reading it too.
I hope you are all taking care of yourselves during this festive time. This year, I hope to be able to communicate with everyone more. I felt quite lost last year, so I want to make it my mission this year to update and write on this blog. Believe it or not, this is my very first post since I started my writing career about five years ago. Part time that is. I still have a day job, and only write when I have time. I thought if I start writing blogs, I could improve on my writing skill even more and also to share the love of Kpop, Asian dramas, anime, manga or boys love series to everyone.
